Youth Appreciation

The St Paul Friend of Youth Foundation was founded by the St Paul Optimist Club to recognize the principles of optimism and good citizenship in youth. We seek to honor achievement in the face of adversity and promote excellence in leadership through education. Each year the club reviews nominations for inspiring students and has directly awarded over $350,000 in post secondary scholarships to local students.
Students receive on average a $2,000 scholarship, and typically 15 students who represent our principles are recognized. The Foundation sponsors a Youth Appreciation Banquet to honor all recipients, their family, and sponsoring teacher/counselor.
Each year, the Optimist Club of St. Paul petitions all High Schools in St. Paul school district, both public and private, to identify and submit applications for students who have succeeded both academically and civically in the face of adversity.
If you are a senior student enrolled in a St. Paul School District High School (both public or private), please click on the following link web page to submit your application.
